In 2013, shortly after the horrific Patriot's Day bombings at the Boston Marathon and the ensuing manhunt, Friends of New England's Finest was formed in Washington, DC to host a reception during National Police Week. It gave native New Englanders in the nation's capital the chance to meet and thank the law enforcement officials who protected our friends and family on those frightful days. The"Thank You for Protecting Our Loved Ones at Home" reception has become an annual event to honor New England law enforcement entered into the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial each year as well as the daily sacrifice of all law enforcement officers.

This year's reception is in special memory of those whose sacrificed their lives for our protection in 2014. Last year over 200 officers, representing 43 departments from across New England, attended the reception and we expect even more this year.

Let us come together this year to truly exhibit the outpouring of appreciation that our officers deserve.
